Key Purchase Overview

IMPORTANT! If you have SmartCAM v18 or earlier software, read the important information on the right regarding replacement license key requests for versions of those older versions.


For SmartCAM v19, v2014 or later, below you will find a summary of the process for key purchase requests for customers not on SMA.

  1. Run the "License Manager" utility (the shortcut is found in your SmartCAM program folder, in the Windows "Start" menu).

    This will open the SmartCAM License Manager utility. In the utility, choose "Create Key Request form." Enter your contact information and choose the product(s) installed on your computer.

    Choose the "Save Form" button to generate a key request form and save the form to your computer. Please make note of the path and filename located in the Name field.

    Note: To provide operational license keys for all your products, the License Manager utility must be run on the same computer that you are trying to license.

  2. Click on the "Click Here to Proceed" button to begin the key purchase process.
  3. Upload the key request file, generated by the SmartCAM License Manager (called License Administrator in some older versions) utility.
  4. Verify and update the uploaded key request information and click Continue.
  5. Confirm your information and click Submit Payment.

Q. Why is there a processing fee for replacement license keys?

First, there is NO processing fee charge for active maintenance (SMA) customers who request replacement license keys, because they are supporting their SmartCAM licenses and are investing in SmartCAM's future.

For customers who choose not to purchase SMA for their SmartCAM licenses, we charge an administrative fee for processing the replacement keys. The fee is intended only to offset our costs of administering the program. SmartCAMcnc does NOT make a profit on the administration of replacement license keys.

When a customer purchases a SMA agreement, we will gladly refund the fees of any replacement keys processed in the previous 30 days.
