March 1, 2005 - Eugene Oregon -
SmartCAMcnc, developers
of SmartCAM, announced today that Doug Oliver has been named
Senior Product Manager for the company.
Oliver comes to SmartCAMcnc with 29 years experience in the
CNC, CAM and CAD/CAM software industries, most recently serving
as Sales and Distribution Manager for EZCAM Solutions, Inc.
Prior to that, he served eight years as Product Manager and
Release Manager for Point Control Company, CAMAX Manufacturing
Technologies, SDRC, and EDS-UGS. In his most recent position with
EDS-UGS, Oliver oversaw all project and feature planning for
SmartCAM as well as Generative Machining, which was the first CAM
product to use the innovative Surface Machining Module (SMM).
“Having Doug come lead our Product Management group is a
tremendous benefit for us,” said Gregg Olson, president of
SmartCAMcnc. "He has a varied and impressive track record in the
CAM industry, and his experience with the implementation of SMM for
real-world machining applications is proving invaluable as we
prepare to release FreeForm Machining. Doug would be a great fit at
any time, but at this particular time he is a perfect
fit."
