SmartCAM CAM Connection v12.1 Released

May 14, 2005 - Eugene Oregon - SmartCAMcnc has announced the release of and CAM Connection v12.1 for IGES Surfaces & Wireframe Geometry. Being released at the same time is SmartCAM Advanced Milling v12. Already in v12 release are SmartCAM Advanced Wire EDM, Advanced Fabrication, Production Milling, Production Turning, and Advanced Turning.

CAM Connection v12.1 adds state of the art translation of surfaces from solids, along with the already strong wireframe translation provided in version 12.0. SmartCAM Advanced Milling and FreeForm Machining provide surface machining capabilities that take advantage of the updated IGES translation capabilities.

SmartCAM FreeForm Machining v12 is due out in June 2005.

Version 12 applications represents the SmartCAMcnc’s first release of its industry-pioneering software since the company was founded in December, 2003. Prior to that time, the software sat idle while it was owned but not developed by a series of companies. These new releases are the first by any company since 1998.
