SmartCAM v14 System Requirements

SmartCAM V14 boasts the addition of the ACIS® solid-modeling kernel to all applications and OpenGL graphics in the main graphics window. These two additions provide solid model import, export and display capability. The system requirements for SmartCAM V14 applications have been upgraded in support of those enhancements.

These new versions will be released to maintenance customers early in Q2 2007. To allow SmartCAMcnc maintenance customers to take immediate advantage of SmartCAM V14 when it releases, we request all SmartCAM users to compare their current systems to the new V14 system requirements and to make any necessary changes prior to installation.

Operating System
Minimum: Microsoft Windows XP® Professional, Windows 2000®, or Windows Vista.

Microsoft Windows Vista
SmartCAM v14.0 applications are compatible with Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows Vista. To get the best performance from SmartCAM on Windows Vista it is highly recommended that you meet or exceed Microsoft's recommended hardware requirements for Vista.

Older Microsoft Operating Systems
SmartCAM applications may function properly on older Windows operating systems, such as Windows 95/98/ME, Windows NT 4.x, but SmartCAMcnc will not be able to support operating systems issues for customers running older operating systems.

Network Card
Required: Network Interface Card (a.k.a., Ethernet or NIC card) or motherboard embedded with NIC; this device is used with SmartCAM software licensing. IMPORTANT: the network card does NOT need to be attached to a network, it does, however, need to be enabled and active. If the network card is not attached to a network, the card must first be properly configured.

Recommended: 1 GB or greater
Minimum: 128 Mb

SmartCAM: 30MB for installation.
