Nesting in V15.5 Milling Applications New nesting capabilities have been introduced into the SmartCAM V15.5 milling applications that when combined with existing nesting features provide milling users the ability to quickly and easily create sheet layouts for applications using equipment such as routers, lasers, burners, and water jets.
Manual Nest & Dynamic Nest The Manual Nest function used in conjunction with Dynamic Nest allows parts or toolpaths to be grouped, oriented and positioned into efficient packages.
Grid Nest Grid Nest creates multiple copies of a part, or group of parts, using the specified spacing and placement settings. It can automatically fill the sheet with as many copies as possible, or limit the copies to a specific number.
Other Nesting Improvements Containers as well as stand-alone geometry can be nested, and the container will be nested along with rest of the other geometry in the active group. Nesting can now place the nest on any work plane when the selected elements are on the active work plane.
