SmartCAM V17 Shop Floor Documentation
and Graphic Printing Enhancements

Several new enhancements have been added to all SmartCAM V17 applications which improve job report documentation and hard copy output.

The report generator has been enhanced to allow a single report that includes both tool and process step information along with a job header. Additionally, it now includes standardized HTML-based report formats with graphics, greatly improving the flexibility and quality of job and shop floor documentation and presentation.

Print Graphics has also been enhanced to increase resolution of output, improve scaling options, and preview the print job.

Report Generation Enhancements

Report Generation: Combined Report Dialog - New in V17.0

The three individual report menu items: Job Info, Tooling Info, Step Info are now accessed via a single tabbed dialog with each report having its own tab. On the tabs, users can set the properties for that report.

The combined dialog allows the user to choose what combination of the three reports are included in the generated report.

Report Generation: New Report Procedures - New in V17.0

Several new report format procedures have been added to provide greater flexibility in the types of output that can be generated. New commands to disable printer-oriented report functions such as pagination and form feeding allow many new types of ASCII files to be created, for example comma delimited format and HTML code.

Image generation commands are also available and can be used to create graphic images from named views and JOS tool displays.

Report Generation: HTML Reports - New in V17.0

As a result of the new report procedures, new HTML formats are now available that allow report information to be output in simple and easy to read tables that can be shared via the web and viewed with any standard web browser.

An image of the current graphics view, or any pre-defined named view, can be included with each report type. The option to include the screen capture (and which view to include), is controlled by inputs on the JOS Report dialog.

Custom graphic functions are also available to allow other images to be included, for example JOS custom tool graphics.

Report Generation: Option to Automatically Open Reports - New in V17.0

When desired, your generated JOS report will automatically open after it is created. For example, when an HTML report is created, it will open in your default web browser.

Print Graphics: Print Preview - New in V17.0

A Preview button has been added to the Print Graphics dialog that will render a small preview version of the printer output to a pop-up window, allowing the printer output to be checked quickly.
