SmartCAMcnc acquires rights to independently develop and support SmartCAM® software

August 24, 2004 - Eugene Oregon - SmartCAMcnc today announced an agreement with UGS PLM Solutions, the product lifecycle management (PLM) subsidiary of EDS, to acquire the rights to independently develop, sell and support the SmartCAM line of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.

"SmartCAM pioneered the industry move to desktop CAM software and our research indicates a thriving customer base who wish to continue to use SmartCAM," said Gregg Olson, president of SmartCAMcnc. "We look forward to this opportunity to build on the product's heritage and provide manufacturers with a powerful industry-proven CAM solution."

In addition to new software license sales, SmartCAMcnc will offer maintenance and discounts on additional seats and products to registered SmartCAM customers.
