SmartCAM V16: Group Selection Improvements

SmartCAM V16.5 includes many enhancements to the selection tools and option that make SmartCAM better and easier to use.

Additions to Group Toolbar - New in V16.5

Three new group section icons have been added to the Group toolbar that make it easier to pick profiles and surface features on a solid model. These new picking modes allow profiles or related surface sets on a solid model to be selected with a single click.

Profile Selection Mode - New in V16.5

This new option helps eliminate accidentally "triple clicking" and selecting an entire step or layer, as was possible when using the group arrow double click method.

This option enables single clicking on a profile element to select all elements belonging to the profile. Profiles overlying surfaces can now be selected without the use of a selection filter.

Tangent Surface Selection Mode - New in V16.5

The Tangent Surface Selection option lets you "single click" a surface to select that surface and the chain of any surfaces that are tangent to it.

If the picked surface is surrounded by surfaces already in the active group, the tangent chain will continue until the surrounding grouped surfaces are reached.

Adjacent Surface Selection Mode - New in V16.5

This mode gives you the option of single clicking a surface to select that surface and the chain of surfaces adjacent to it.

If the picked surface is surrounded by surfaces already in the active group, the tangent chain will continue until the surrounding grouped surfaces are reached.
