Multi-Function and Mill/Turn Improvements - V17.5 - Several improvements have been made to SmartCAM Advanced Turning which expand support for multi-function and mill/turn machinery. New code generation toolplane indexing with 3D transformations, optimization of toolpath for live tooling, and new Machine Define turn and mill primary and secondary turret categories.

New & Enhanced Toolpath Modeling Features - V17.5 - New geometry creation and editing features further expand SmartCAM's already extensive toolpath modeling capabilities. A new Hole Pattern element (for bolt circle and radial hole patterns) and improved hole feature detection from solid models provide more control when developing hole-making processes. A new Profile Extend feature provides powerful low-level editing capabilities.

Improvements to SmartCAM's offsetting functions now provide complete control over sharp corner roll behavior, and the Optimize command has been enhanced to allow Layer geometry elements to be optimized the same as with toolpath Step elements.

Solids Pocketing Improvements - V17.0 - The new Solid Pocket options provide users with a variety of ways to more efficiently rough parts that include a island tops at different depth levels, and can now be applied to pockets that contain gaps or notches. New in SmartCAM Advanced Turning, Advanced Milling and FreeForm Machining.

New Planar Roughing - V17.0 - The new Planar Rough process incorporates the many Solid Pocket process features, such as critical depth processing, multiple start points, and more, and extends these capabilities to allow roughing strategies to be applied to virtually any part feature configuration consisting of cores, cavities, and open pockets and profiles. New in SmartCAM Advanced Turning, Advanced Milling and FreeForm Machining.

Name View Improvements - V17.0 - The Named View feature now allows users to save mask and visibility display states in addition to view orientation, size and position.

Shop Floor Report Generation Improvements - V17.0 - The report generator has been enhanced to allow a single HTML-formatted report with graphics that includes both tool and process step information along with a job header, greatly improving the flexibility and quality of job and shop floor documentation and presentation.

Layer Transparency for Individual Layers - V17.0 - A transparency setting is now available for each layer allowing individual models, such as fixtures and stock, to have their own transparency state.

Graphics Printing - V17.0 - Increased resolution of output, improved scaling options, and a print preview function.

Other Enhancements - V17.0 & V17.5 - Numerous core improvements including multi-line notes output in code, invert screen background color, automatic new version update checking, and much more.
