Several new milling capabilities can be found in the SmartCAM V19.5 milling applications as well as the mill/turn capabilities of SmartCAM Advanced Turning.

 

Part Offset Path Type Availability Expanded

The Part Offset path type introduced in the version 19.0 Region Rough process has been integrated into the other roughing processes such as Pocket, Face, Solid Pocket, and Planar roughing. The Part Offset path generates offsets for both the outer pocket boundary and inner islands for each pass. This strategy often results in a more efficient path that provides a consistent cut direction with respect to both the part and stock, with fewer pinched-off areas.

Part-Offset Stay Down

The Stay-Down pocketing option added to SmartCAM V19.0 for Spiral toolpath type is now available for Part Offset path type. When Stay Down is enabled, whenever possible, regions accessible by the tool will be machined without retracting the tool when the pattern pinches off. This new behavior minimizes plunge moves into stock.

Wrapped Container Toolpath - V19.5

Process container toolpath can now be directly converted to 4th-axis toolpath using the Transform-Wrap command, without the need to first unpack the container. This feature saves time and makes it easier to modify process container toolpath and re-wrap it.
